I have often read in blogs and forums that there is more than one way to find silver and one of those ways is cleaner and not as dirty as using a Ace 350.This method has been labeled coinroll hunting. Its a rather simple way with no need to gain permission to search and unlimited places to look all you got to do is have a good bank that you have a account with that doesn't penalize you for depositing large amounts of change and you are set to become a CRH .
Most banks get 50 cent halves in in deposits and rarely give them back out in change and some people flat out refuse them when offered lol. So get at least 100 dollars to start with and go to any bank and ask for 50 cent pieces if they do have them they will be glad to let you have them. Also this is very important always ask for any silver dollars so people do still deposit these and all are worth more than a dollar so buy every single one they have as you will be making instant return on you money.
After finding the halves look for anything 1970 and under and you have silver.
1965-1970 are 40% silver
1964 and under are 90% silver
A lot of people are unaware of the 40% and will leave them out and with silver valued $40 a ounce you are looking at $8+ per coin for the price of 50 cents.

And the beauty of the whole thing is you do not loose any money just your time by doing this as you just deposit the clad(non silver coins) back into your bank and by doing so you know were they are and that in turn puts the searched coins in one place were you know were they are at.
I have had good results so far on 2 hunts this year the first hunt bought $7 dollars worth and found a 1964 90% silver Kennedy half.
The second hunt we found a bank that had $660 in halves and we bought every one.
out of all those halves we found 4 40% Kennedy halves and 2 2005 halves that were kept as well because they stopped making halves in 2001 for circulation so those were out of proof sets.
Here are a few tips to use while coin roll hunting.
1 ask for any and all halves buy them all.
2 ask for silver dollars you might get lucky
3 go to banks in small towns and in areas were retirement homes and older people live as they are the ones that hold on to older money and then cash it in
4 after getting your rolls look at the edges of the coins and silver will be silver and the clad will have cooper look to them.
5 make sure you got a place to deposit them after you are done.
If anyone has any other things to add please comment and let me know and I would also like to hear other peoples stories as well.

From 2002 to present, Half Dollars are minted in both Proof and Business strikes. Nearly all the ones found in rolls are of the Business strike variety, not the Proofs. But still a good find none the less and can sell for as much as 2x face value
